Job Title: Residential Design Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Residential Design Manager to join our team at CV Library.

Salary: Up to £90,000 + Package

Location: North West London

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design management, with experience working on residential projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process, ensuring that all designs meet regulatory and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work of architects, engineers, and other design consultants to ensure timely delivery of project specifications.
  • Liaise between stakeholders, including the design team, client, and construction team, to facilitate communication and ensure project progress.
  • Evaluate design documents to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, local building codes, and company guidelines.
  • Identify potential design risks early in the project and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays or budget overruns.
  • Work closely with commercial and construction teams to align the design with the project's financial constraints, often through value engineering exercises.
  • Establish and maintain the design programme, ensuring that milestones are met to allow construction to proceed according to schedule.
  • Manage design changes during the construction phase, assessing the impact on time, cost, and quality, and ensuring that these changes are communicated to all relevant parties.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure that design outputs are consistent with the original project intent and meet the required standards of workmanship.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Design Manager for Main Contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, safety standards (like CDM regulations), and sustainability practices (BREEAM, LEED).
  • Proven experience managing design teams, delivering projects on time and within budget, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Essential residential project experience.
