Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Recruiting Assistant to join our dynamic London office. This individual will assist in the administration of the lateral attorney recruiting process, working closely with the Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange inductions for new attorney joiners, including scheduling, producing welcome packs, and coordinating room bookings.
- Send communications to new joiners, respond to pre-joiner queries, and send reminders to relevant teams.
- Prepare and send office-wide welcome emails for new joiners.
- Help the team with collecting pre-joiner information, arranging accommodation, and ensuring the OneNote tracker is up to date.
- Collate pre-screening, background, and conflicts checks for new joiners.
- Conduct right to work checks and arrange interviews, including liaising with partners, secretaries, and recruiting agencies.
- Add lateral candidates to our international database and update throughout the recruiting process.
- Regularly check and manage our CV portal, download, review, and summarize CVs to be sent to partners.
- Maintain the internal Practice Group Chart and individual group charts with leavers, joiners, and transfers.
- Help produce monthly reports tracking recruitment across international offices.
- Recruit document reviewers and contract attorneys on an ad hoc basis.
- Support the team members involved in graduate recruiting, including attending law fairs or other graduate events.
- Ensure excellent DMS filing of important emails and documents.
- Update firm tracking systems, including OneNote and SilkRoad.
- Deal with expense and invoice processing for the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a law firm or professional service industry with recruiting experience.
- Understanding of the legal qualification route is helpful.
- Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple service requests under tight time constraints.
- Reliability, commitment, and punctuality, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent customer service orientation, communication skills, and ability to work with attorneys and staff at all levels.
- Professional demeanor and computer proficiency with knowledge of various database systems.
