Project Manager - Utility Network Installation

Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary HV power, renewable energy, and utilities contracting business, is seeking a highly motivated and industry-experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple projects and be the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

The Role
  • Provide project planning, milestone, and scope management, resource forecasting, financial and cost control, and change management across the company's entire project portfolio.
  • Produce and maintain accurate records of works undertaken.
  • Define and embed project control and governance.
  • Design and maintain accurate and current programs of work for assigned projects.
  • Provide routine updates and reports at an operational and commercial level.
  • Oversee project costs and ensure finances are well managed.
  • Support the pre-contracts team with project feedback, recommendations, and lessons learned.
  • Deliver projects sustainably in consideration of competence, capability, and safety.
  • Take decisions as required, including pre-empting issues and identifying solutions.
  • Attend site when necessary to troubleshoot, monitor quality, or conduct audits.
  • Maximise profitability for the business at all times, considering innovative or better practices to deliver project efficiency wherever possible.
  • Ensure cross-programme dependencies are managed and logs are accurately maintained.
  • Ensure efficient change control methods and processes are utilised.
  • Work across multiple disciplines and sites, working productively with clients, customers, and designers on a daily basis, whilst always remaining organized and agile in leading multiple teams.
The Person
  • Preferably at least 5-10 years experience in a similar position within any area of the EHV (Extra High Voltage) power sector, and a good working knowledge of industrial electrical distribution systems, networks, and regulations (up to and including 132kv).
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems and DNO's networks (up to and including 132kv).
  • Preferably an Electrical Engineering Degree or HND/HNC, or commensurate practical experience in the absence of any qualifications.
  • CSCS card and full UK driving licence holder.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint, across multiple platforms such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
