About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Family Support Practitioner to join our team as a Specialist Child and Family Worker. As a key member of our team, you will engage with families and young people to assess their needs and develop sustainable solutions to improve their ability to achieve better outcomes for their children.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of families and young people and develop holistic solutions to improve their well-being.
  • Work with families and young people to develop and implement Family Support Plans.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to families and young people on a range of issues, including problematic behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and housing and income.
  • Contribute to the Portsmouth 'Team Around the Worker' approach by applying your specialist knowledge of Education, Child Mental Health, and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Nationally recognised qualification such as NVQ level 5 or other higher-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Specialist knowledge in Education and Child Mental Health.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of safeguarding children and young people.
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and families.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to respond to changing priorities.
  • High-quality record-keeping skills.
