About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Train Driver to join our team at Helensburg. As a Train Driver, you will be responsible for operating locomotives and freight trains safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate locomotives and freight trains, prioritizing safety and adhering to company rules and regulations.
- Complete route and traction training, maintaining competence and adhering to company standards.
- Locate and rectify faults, following correct reporting procedures.
- Represent the company to customers, maintaining a professional outlook and appearance.
- Communicate effectively with GB Railfreight controllers, line managers, signallers, and customer representatives.
- Ensure the safety of yourself and others working in and around the railway.
Requirements
- European Train Driving License holder.
- Clean safety record.
- Freight Train Driver Competence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of rail industry rules and regulations.
- A full, manual UK drivers license.
- Must live within 45 minutes commute of the depot.
Desirable Qualifications
- Comfortable using iPAD and digital technologies.
- Mentor experience.
- Freight Train experience, especially class 66 locomotive competence.
- Varied route knowledge.
- Rail Operator competence.
