About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Caretaker to join our Estate Services team based in West Bromwich. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and properties within our portfolio, ensuring they are safe and well-maintained for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake general caretaking duties, including internal block cleaning, litter picking, and cleaning and clearing of bin stores and bulky waste removal
  • Perform ground maintenance tasks, such as lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and weed spraying
  • Work with customers to identify faults, resolve issues, and improve services
  • Complete all necessary documents and paperwork concerning tasks completed
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and suitable for required tasks
  • Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
  • Carry out hazardous tasks, such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines and maintain relevant records to comply with health and safety and legal requirements

Requirements

  • Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Grade C English and Maths GCSE
  • A pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent is desirable
  • Experience in a similar role or completing similar tasks
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Practical experience in operating hand tools and gardening machinery is essential
  • Good communication and customer care skills
  • Some experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
  • This role will involve driving on company business, and a full valid UK driving licence is required
