Employability Opportunities

The Scottish Government has identified tackling child poverty as a priority, and employability is a key part of this. The Parental Employability Support Fund (PESF) provides support for parents to progress into employment and support low-income parents to progress within work.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support parents to upskill and/or retrain and increase family income through a range of employability interventions. This will involve taking a holistic key worker approach to provide personalized support to parents who face barriers to progressing within the labour market.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing guidance and support to parents to gain qualifications, improve skills, or gain work experience
  • Offering money advice and motivational support to help parents overcome financial barriers
  • Working with parents to develop personalized employability plans

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. You will be required to provide proof of your right to work in the UK, and any offer of employment will be conditional upon verifying documentary evidence before employment commences.
