Multi-Skilled M&E Shift Engineer Opportunity

About the Role: PRS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled M&E Shift Engineer to join their team at one of their data centres in the Slough/Berkshire area. This position will involve working on a continental shift pattern, covering a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts across both days and nights, providing 24/7 coverage to ensure 100% uptime for the site.

About the Company: Our client is a global Data Centre organization operating across the USA, Europe, and Asia, both owning their facilities and self-delivering M&E/critical services. They are committed to delivering exceptional service and solutions to their clients.

About You: Candidates must be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, and have at least 5 years of experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance within a commercial building services environment. While advantageous, data centre experience is not essential; experience working on M&E systems within similar or adjacent environments such as pharmaceutical, healthcare, or corporate HQs will also be considered. Additional training such as LV/HV authorisation, 2391, F-Gas, Mechanical AP status, etc., would be beneficial.

Responsibilities: As a Multi-Skilled M&E Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical fault-finding, single and three-phase power distribution, and other tasks outlined below:

  • Electrical & Mechanical Fault-Finding
  • Single & Three Phase Power
  • Motors, Pumps, Air Handling & Fan Coil Units
  • BMS Operation
  • Water Treatment
  • 1st line Chiller & Boiler Faults
  • Diesel Generators (including on-load tests)
  • HV & LV Distribution (Switching, Shut-Downs)
  • Static & Rotary UPS Systems
  • VESDA
  • Close Control AC Units

Salary and Benefits: The guideline salary for this position is between £52-55,000, depending on experience, along with a fantastic benefits package which includes an annual bonus, healthcare, pension, and the opportunity for overtime and a healthy training budget.
