Portfolio Manager Role at Barclays

Barclays is seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Manager to spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to support sub-pod leads with governance and portfolio management, demonstrating exceptional leadership and coordination skills to ensure seamless execution of all governance and portfolio management activities.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of change governance processes and manage risks and issues, identifying, managing, and mitigating potential risks and issues to ensure smooth transitions and continuity.
  • Maintain attention to detail, focusing on precision and accuracy in all tasks to uphold the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of Barclays' processes, bringing a deep familiarity with workflows to facilitate efficient task management and enhance overall productivity.
  • Understanding of Agile ways of working, showcasing proficiency in Agile methodologies that promote flexibility, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Organisational skills, demonstrating exceptional ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring timely completion of projects and adherence to deadlines.

The location of this role is in Knutsford, United Kingdom.

Purpose of the Role:

To support change delivery managers in the delivery of successful projects, ensuring that project management processes and practices are aligned with controls and governance standards and that projects are aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives.

  • Creation and implementation of standardised PMO processes and methodologies that are aligned with controls and governance standards and that support the delivery of successful projects.
  • Monitoring of project performance, including tracking of project progress, identification of risks assumptions, issues, and dependencies, and creation of reports on project status to senior management.
  • Support of project documentation, including maintenance of project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring that project documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Facilitation of project governance, including ensuring that projects are aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives, and that project risks assumptions, issues, and dependencies are managed effectively.
  • Provision of change management framework training to project managers and other stakeholders, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver successful projects.
  • Continuous improvement of project management practices, including identification of areas for improvement and implementation of changes to improve project delivery.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
