We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurophysiotherapist to join our dynamic and experienced Neurophysio team in Surrey Downs Health & Care. As a Specialist Neurophysiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with neurological conditions in a community setting.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate and deliver individual physiotherapy treatment programs based on sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options.
- Assess the patient's understanding of treatment proposals and gain valid informal consent to treatment.
- Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, other members of the multi-disciplinary team, and other relevant parties.
- Evaluate patient progress, reassess, and alter treatment programs as required.
- Manage clinical risk within your patient caseload and seek guidance from senior colleagues as appropriate.
- Work within Surrey Downs, CSP, and national clinical guidelines, with a good working knowledge of national and local standards.
- Represent the physiotherapy service and/or individual patients at multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Make accurate and complete records of work undertaken and keep monthly statistics in line with CNRS standards.
- Supervise, evaluate, and assess the performance of physiotherapy students.
- Teach, assess, and contribute to the performance assessment and appraisal of Band 5 qualified staff and Technical Instructors.
- Maintain your own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of new developments and trends.
- Participate in a formal appraisal scheme and formulate a personal development plan.
- Participate in data collection and occasional lead clinical audit within the Physiotherapy department or as part of the MDT.
- Be responsible for the equipment used in carrying out physiotherapy duties and adhere to department policies and guidelines.
- Share responsibility for departmental tidiness, maintenance, and administration.
- Utilize IT systems appropriately to improve the efficiency of the service.
- Assist and sometimes lead in the supervision and coordination of junior staff and assistants.
- Deputise for senior colleagues in their absence and take responsibility for the operational management of the team.
