Safety Advocate

Purpose:
As a Safety Advocate at Danbury Public Schools, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and orderly school environment that promotes improved school climate and effective learning opportunities. Your responsibilities will include supervising students in various locations, maintaining building security, and communicating concerns to administrators.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise students in the cafeteria, hallways, bathrooms, parking lots, and other non-classroom locations as assigned.
Assist in supervising students during lunch, assemblies, emergency drills, and other non-classroom activities as assigned.
Maintain overall building security, including signing in visitors, checking exterior doors and windows, and overseeing exterior spaces.
Communicate concerns relative to safety and security in the building to administrators or teachers.
Maintain confidentiality of information about students and adhere to the same high level of ethical behavior as certified and non-certified staff.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with law enforcement, security, or similar preferred.
Ability to work on a team and communicate effectively.
Bilingual preferred.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday; 10-month position.
Hours are Monday through Friday.
