Job Description

The Head of Privacy and Compliance will be responsible for ensuring ASOS's data privacy and data protection needs are met globally. This includes providing expert advice on data privacy matters, acting as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for UK and EU markets, and leading the development of ASOS's AI Governance Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure ASOS meets data privacy requirements globally, including acting as DPO for UK and EU markets.
  • Provide strategic and commercially focused advice to the ASOS business on data privacy matters.
  • Lead the development of ASOS's AI Governance Framework and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage data subject rights and requests for information, and manage internal and external privacy compliance audits.
  • Advise on specialist privacy areas, including data retention, data transfer, and data exploitation.
  • Act as the liaison point for privacy matters to ASOS customers, employees, and DPA supervisory authorities/regulators.
Requirements
  • Data Privacy Professional certification (ISEB/IAPP).
  • Legal qualification/background and/or CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified (desirable).
  • Project management qualifications (Prince 2/Agile) (desirable).
  • Technical security qualification such as CISSP/CISSM (desirable).
About You
  • In-depth and extensive specialist knowledge of data protection laws and issues.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience of developing, leading, and embedding a data privacy programme.
  • Comfortable in an environment with a broad range of specialisms and responsibilities.
