About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our Connections department at SSE. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development, refinement, and execution of new projects across our operational area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe delivery of projects to programme, cost, and quality standards, using robust systems to support the project process.
  • Manage key project programme deliverables, external and internal stakeholders, and interface with internal departments, including design and engineering, planning, environmental, and consents.
  • Provide support to customers and delivery partners to ensure projects proceed efficiently, including facilitating and attending site meetings.
  • Drive profitability and opportunity through excellent customer service, identifying areas of improvement to work collaboratively with delivery partners and the wider business.
  • Apply and adhere to Safety Management Systems, CDM regulations, best practices, and governance processes for all projects where required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of people and customer management, with a proven track record of delivering work safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Experience of meeting project timelines, quality, and cost parameters, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of project progression and financial performance.
  • Experience of developing project programmes, costs, resource schedules, and relevant plans to ensure a practicable and cost-effective scheme is delivered.
  • Working knowledge of a regulated industry, preferably within electricity or utility sectors. Experience and knowledge of operating the LV, 11kV, and 33kV network is beneficial but not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering projects within relevant governance processes and a good working knowledge of Construction (Design & Management) Regulations.
