Job Title: Despatch Operative

Pertemps Northampton is seeking a skilled Despatch Operative to join their busy team in Northamptonshire. As a key member of the production team, you will contribute to the production target by ensuring products and customer orders are packed, labelled, and despatched correctly following procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pack and label products and customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Check vehicle and driver credentials to ensure all statutory and company requirements are met.
  • Comply with IMDG ADR and IATA requirements, completing all documentation as required.
  • Communicate and liaise with shipping department as required.
  • Maintain excellent hygiene and housekeeping standards for packaging, yard area, and storage.
  • Ensure FLT trucks are checked before use and charged as per company policy.
  • Contribute to the goals and objectives of the team.
  • Ensure all equipment used is clean and dry to meet hygiene standards.
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, tidy, and safe to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Operate the FIFO system and report any spillage or compounding errors to ensure accurate stock levels.
Requirements:
  • FLT License.
  • Good English comprehension and mathematics.
  • Enthusiastic team player and keen to learn.
  • Excellent self-motivation with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental enthusiasm to ensure own and others safety.
  • Excellent Numeracy & communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX will be an advantage.
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively with attention to detail.
