Job Title: BI and Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced BI developer with a strong background in data warehousing and ETL development to join our team at Lorien. Our data warehouse capability is a critical component of our operations, powering key functions such as marketing, finance, and product.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop high-performance ETL and ELT pipelines using Teradata and Snowflake.
  2. Develop data extraction routines from multiple sources, including APIs, CSV files, relational and non-relational databases, and cloud storage buckets.
  3. Collaborate with the team to adhere to and improve coding standards and best practices.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Extensive experience in developing large-volume data pipelines on TB-sized data structures in traditional normalized data warehouses and cloud Big Data warehouses.
  2. Strong knowledge of multi-tier, high availability, Google cloud, and on-premise data engineering solutions in a complex multi-cloud, multi-enterprise environment.
  3. Experience optimizing complex SQL queries for high performance.
  4. Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills with the ability to write performance-optimized queries.
  5. Highly proficient in Shell Scripting in a Linux environment.
  6. Ability to understand data from a business perspective.
  7. Python programming experience.
  8. Demonstrable experience with Hadoop HDFS, SQL Server, MDS, Hive, and Presto.
  9. API parsing using JSON and HTML.
  10. High attention to detail and appreciation for data integrity.

This is a hybrid working role, with 2 days a week spent in our Stratford office.
