Job Description: Construction Site Logistics Coordinator

This exciting opportunity requires a skilled Telehandler to join our team within Vistry Devon South West, located in Bideford, Devon. As a Construction Site Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for unloading, storing, securing, and distributing materials using a forklift truck.

You will assist the site team in ensuring site safety and security requirements are adhered to, while maintaining compliance with our Health, Safety, and Environmental policy. This includes inspecting the forklift truck daily/weekly, ensuring proper records are complete, and informing the Site Manager of any defects.

Able to multitask, you will be responsible for tasks such as monitoring traffic and pedestrian segregation, reporting deficiencies, and securing hazards each evening prior to leaving the site. Providing basic first aid when required, you must have received appropriate training.

Maintaining site presentation, including tidiness and organisation of storage areas, clearing general debris, and ensuring compliance with our housekeeping policy, is crucial to this role. You will also distribute tipping skips to working areas, collect them when full, and ensure building areas, dwellings, and boundary areas are secure, reporting any issues to the Site Manager.

Opening and closing the site each day, providing cover for the Site Manager as required, prioritising health, safety, and environmental requirements, is essential. Ensuring material segregation in accordance with our site waste management plan, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements

To succeed as a Construction Site Logistics Coordinator, you will require:

  • Trained Plant Operator CPCS Card - Telescopic Handler - All sizes Exec 360 Slew - Category A17 Endorsement C
  • Be able to demonstrate genuine interest in working in the construction industry
  • Resourceful and capable of using own initiative
  • Excellent time keeping and attendance record
  • Able to work effectively and safely under pressure

  • A willingness to attend site out of hours to deal with emergency situations

Desirable Skills

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Materials Controller/Forklift Operator or trades person is highly desirable.
