Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Polaris Community Full time
Join the Polaris Community as a dedicated Teaching Assistant in our SEN school, Selwyn Hall School. We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to support our pupils with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

**About the Role**
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of up to six pupils. You will work closely with the Classroom Teacher to ensure the pupils' needs are met, and provide supervision during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips. You will also assist with lesson planning, classroom preparation, and setting work where appropriate.

**Requirements**
We are looking for someone with a strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics. Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant, is essential. You should also have some experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting. Additionally, you should be experienced and confident enough to take additional responsibility in an area of the school, such as Food Hygiene, Forest School, or Lunchtimes. You should also have experience of behaviour management and techniques, and be committed to professional development and willing to learn.

**What We Offer**
We offer a workplace that values the emotional health and wellbeing of everybody, a commitment to support your development in acquiring new skills, and an opportunity to make a huge contribution to the lives and lifelong learning of vulnerable children. You will be part of a friendly and inclusive team who are passionate about improving pupil outcomes. The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, cost of which will be met by Selwyn Hall School. Selwyn Hall School is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates.
