About the Role

Cranleigh STEM, Sustainability & SHEQ Recruitment is working with a leading chemical brand to find a skilled Formulation Chemist to join their dynamic R&D team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-performance products, including race-winning lubricants and formulas used at the top levels of competition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical projects related to cleaning products and develop new formulations
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure efficient, timely product development
  • Create testing and characterization protocols for new products
  • Maintain detailed project records and manage laboratory equipment and resources
  • Work closely with the R&D team to support the development of additional products
Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds a Master's/PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experienced in developing formulated products such as cleaning solutions and lubricants
  • Able to critically review technical data and literature
  • Proficient in chemical characterization techniques like FTIR and Gas Chromatography
  • Experienced in a laboratory setting with solid lab management skills, including chemical handling and COSHH assessments
  • Possesses a hands-on approach to project execution and problem-solving
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Competent in IT, with experience writing technical reports
