Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered General Adult Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our General Surgery department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Main Responsibilities

As a Registered General Adult Nurse, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing patients on admission and ensuring timely access to appropriate investigations, referrals, and assessments.
  • Undertaking clinical competencies relevant to the nursing role and supporting staff in the management of challenging patients, families, or situations.
  • Dealing sensitively with patients and/or relatives/carers who may be exhibiting a high level of anxiety or aggression.
  • Conveying unwelcome news to patients and/or relatives/carers regarding diagnosis and potential recovery.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is a Registered General Adult Nurse with current NMC registration or soon-to-qualify.
  • Has evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues and has championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
