Graduate Civil Engineer Role

We are seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team in the North of Scotland. As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will work closely with our senior engineers to deliver projects that improve the lives of people around the world. You will have the opportunity to rotate through different sectors and projects, gaining valuable experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate setting out of works and dimensional control
  • Resolving technical problems at all levels
  • Carrying out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan
  • Producing survey information and red-lined drawings for the completion of As-built records
  • Ensuring activities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan
  • Accurate maintenance of Quality Management System records
  • Ensuring equipment is calibrated, in date, and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers' defined requirements
  • Ensuring the site diary is accurately maintained, noting against each record the date, location, and serial number of equipment used
  • Informing senior management of any non-conformances or poor workmanship
  • Ensuring all site personnel have clear, accurate, and appropriate information to carry out their duties
  • Closing liaison with the Site Foreman and Works Managers
  • Ensuring that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used
  • Ensuring all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer's recommendations, current working practice, contract specification, or project requirements
  • Assisting the Site Management team to update KPIs, material reconciliation, and progress reports
  • Assisting QS with site quantities and measures for monthly valuations

Requirements

  • An ICE accredited Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Construction experience (desirable)
  • Setting out and surveying techniques (desirable)
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in AutoCAD
