We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our team in Conwy County Borough Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a range of health and safety enforcement work, including inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy front-line service responsible for delivering health and safety, skin piercing registration, special procedures licensing, food safety, and communicable disease control functions. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, be a great team player, and have experience of working in a health and safety role and dealing with a wide range of people and situations in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake health and safety inspections and investigations to identify and address potential hazards and risks.
  • Enforce health and safety legislation and regulations, including issuing notices and taking enforcement action where necessary.
  • Work with businesses and individuals to provide guidance and support on health and safety matters.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of health and safety services.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements

The successful candidate will need to have a Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, as well as a Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or a Registered/Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner. A full UK driving licence and use of a car while at work are also required.
