To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Executive Head Chef and Operations Director to join our team.

The Role

As the Executive Head Chef and Operations Director, you will have full operational and financial responsibility for our schools' catering facilities, focusing on delivering the highest quality of food and service. Your key areas of focus will include:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing kitchen team, providing coaching, training, and motivation to ensure success.
  • Managing all aspects of the catering operation, including stock, food, and labor costs, to maintain profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensuring consistency of food and service standards delivered to students and staff, exceeding expectations through innovative menu development and exceptional customer service.
  • Driving sales through targeted promotions and added-value events, maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Maintaining and improving all controllable costs, ensuring effective budget management.
  • Overseeing menu development to meet evolving tastes and dietary needs.
  • Maintaining compliance with company systems, procedures, and legislation, conducting regular audits to ensure standards are met.
About You

We seek an individual who shares our passion for delivering exceptional food and service, possessing the following skills and experience:

  • OND or HND qualification (advantageous but not essential)
  • Craft-based experience utilizing fresh ingredients, with a strong understanding of flavor profiles and presentation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Financial acumen, with experience in gross profit management and achieving sales targets.
  • Proven line management experience, with a track record of developing and motivating teams.
  • Experience within a similar environment, with a deep understanding of the education sector.
