Job Description

Overview:

The Education Authority is seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead our transportation services. As a key member of the Transport Team, you will be responsible for managing and developing our school transport operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective school transport operations in line with the Authority's strategic priorities.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to create and implement significant ongoing change and harmonisation of school transport operations.
  • Manage and lead on service delivery within your Geographical Transport Service Locality, including direct management of senior staff, service budget, and physical resources.
  • Ensure compliance of all aspects of statutory policies and guidance within the operational functions.
  • Engage with other professionals and agencies as well as work co-jointly with other Service areas across the Authority to implement consistent and cohesive Digital Transformation Programmes.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in transportation management, preferably in a similar role within the public sector.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions that align with the Authority's goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to transportation services.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is £65,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including a contributory pension scheme, generous annual leave entitlement, and opportunities for professional development and training.
