Prospero Teaching is working with an outstanding Primary School in Sunderland to find an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Key Stage 2.

About the Role

This is a full-time position starting from January, providing individualized support and promoting learning and development for a pupil with SEN.

The successful applicant will work one-to-one with the pupil, developing strategies to promote their progress and create a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a Pupil with SEN: Implement individualized approaches to identify needs and develop strategies for progress.
  • Managing Challenging Behaviour: Develop positive and proactive methods to manage behaviour and create a safe environment.
  • Building Relationships: Establish strong relationships with class teachers, parents, and stakeholders for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Preparing Resources: Create resources to support learning activities and lessons.
  • Supervision: Supervise pupils during break times and lunchtimes as required.
Requirements

Certifications: Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) and a recognized Childcare-based qualification are essential.

Skill Set: Ability to build positive relationships, proactive and resilient nature, experience of supporting pupils in a school setting, and high levels of enthusiasm and energy when working with pupils.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000-£30,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience.
