We are seeking a highly skilled Financial System Specialist to lead our financial changeover project. The ideal candidate will have experience in migrating from existing accounting packages to new systems, revising chart of accounts and cost codes, producing sophisticated management account templates, and providing comprehensive training to staff.

At War on Want, we exist to campaign for action on the root causes of poverty. Our history has taught us that only by educating the public and taking collective action can we bring about meaningful change. We work in partnership with trade unions and grassroots social movement groups to challenge structures of poverty and injustice.

The selected consultant will work closely with our Council of Management and Senior Management team to ensure a seamless transition to the new financial system. Key responsibilities include:

  • Migrating to a new accounting package with no data loss
  • Revising the existing chart of accounts and cost code structure for improved user-friendliness
  • Developing a new management account template that feeds into an accounting system of choice
  • Providing comprehensive training and documentation for staff

This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on our financial operations and contribute to our mission. We estimate the total budget for this project to be around £15,000 excluding VAT, covering all related costs and expenses.

Proposals should outline key tasks, timelines, and costs. Further details can be obtained in the terms of reference. Proposals must be submitted by 29 November 2024. Interviews will commence w/c 9 December 2024.

**Salary:** £13,500 per annum (estimated), commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Key Skills and Qualifications: Strong technical skills in financial systems and accounting software, excellent communication and training abilities, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
