Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our Utilities team at HMNB Clyde. As an Electrical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment.


About the Role


This is a permanent position, working Monday to Friday dayshifts with 36 hours per week and early finish on Fridays. You will be based at HMNB Clyde near Helensburgh.


Key Responsibilities


Your key responsibilities as an Electrical Fitter will include:



  • Investigating and diagnosing faults in electrical systems and equipment
  • Repairing and maintaining electrical aspects of Diesel Generators, LV and HV systems, and other electrical equipment
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance and fitting on a variety of electrical systems
  • Defect identification and repair

Essential Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Proven experience in Electrical fitting or maintenance gained within an Industrial or Commercial environment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Work in a safe manner – able to understand statements of work, risk assessments, etc.
  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces on occasion

Qualifications


A recognised Electrical Apprenticeship, qualified to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent (NVQ3, City & Guilds, HNC, etc.), is essential for this role.


Security Clearance


The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC level security clearance for this role.
