Job Title: Staff Engineer

Embecta Corp is a leading company in the diabetes care industry, leveraging its legacy to empower people with diabetes to live their best life. We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assume the role as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electro-mechanical architecture or major subassemblies.
  2. Lead the application of rigorous component, subsystem, and system evaluation using first principles thinking and engineering analysis tools such as FEA and tolerance simulations.
  3. Lead and manage internal and external stakeholders related to project activities.
  4. Oversee the development of production and process documentation, prepare technical analysis, and recommend strategic work related to new or improved products and processes.
  5. Assign technical and/or cross-functional project work.
  6. Manage the development and execution of test methods which specify measurement equipment, test set-up, measurement system analysis, and data analysis.
  7. Contribute to a culture of innovation by proactively generating novel concepts for new products and enhancements to current product performance.
  8. Understand customer needs through literature review, customer interviews, direct observation, competitive analysis, prototype evaluation, and clinical/simulated use studies.
  9. Translate customer needs into engineering requirements for detailed product, packaging, and process specifications.
  10. Create, develop, and release engineering drawings into a controlled documentation system.
  11. Document and write detailed technical reports based on design verification analysis/testing for all engineering activities.
  12. Ensure compliance to Embecta quality policies, procedures, and practices as well as with all local, state, federal, and Embecta safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  13. May require up to 15% travel.
Requirements:

BS or MS degree in engineering is required (Mechanical or Biomedical preferred).

Experience: 8+ years of engineering experience is required, preferably in medical devices.
