About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Metallurgical Coal Market Reporter to join our team at McCloskey by OPIS. As a key member of our price reporting team, you will be responsible for tracking supply and demand fundamentals of the seaborne metallurgical coal and coke market.
Your Responsibilities:
- Report on metallurgical coal prices on a daily and weekly basis that inform McCloskey's key metallurgical coal and coke indexes.
- Develop a keen understanding of the drivers of pricing, including S&D, supply chain and the derivatives market.
- Research and write on big picture issues that impact supply side economics including policy developments, geopolitics, investment climate and ESG, among others.
- Be a key part of the production of the daily metallurgical coal publication.
Requirements:
- Experience in the commodity space as a reporter/researcher including roles as a financial reporter or market analyst.
- Strong quantitative skills and excellent inter-personal skills are advantageous.
- A strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone.
