We are seeking a visionary leader to fill the position of Head of Senior School at Sutton Valence School, commencing in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious educationalist to lead our Senior Phase into its next chapter.
The Head of Senior School will report directly to the Headmaster and work closely alongside him in fulfilling their duties. The role carries autonomy, with the new Head serving as the figurehead and leader of the Senior Phase, leading the Senior Management Team (SMT) in all aspects.
Purpose of the Role
To lead, motivate, and develop the School so that it meets the academic, pastoral, and social needs of pupils, fulfills the expectations and requirements of parents and staff, and provides an exceptional education experience, aligned with the School's ethos.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive forward the strategic direction of the School and implement the development plan.
- Lead and manage all academic and administrative staff in the Senior School, including appointments, appraisals, training, and development.
- Manage budgets for the School and contribute to the Governors' Finance Committee.
- Implement policies on behaviour, discipline, and bullying.
- Foster positive relationships between the School, parents, and the local community.
- Have a passionate commitment to the academic, personal, and social development of pupils.
- Be a team player, able to work effectively in the dynamic of an 'all-through' School.
