About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Pets Choice. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Blackburn sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general building and grounds maintenance tasks, including repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems.
  • Work closely with our Engineering Department and liaise with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Undertake maintenance tasks as directed and prioritize urgent tasks to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain the building fabric and ensure that all facilities are safe and well-maintained.
  • Collaborate with our Health and Safety team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist the engineering maintenance team members as required and support the improvement of Health and Safety standards across all sites.
  • Record all works on our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Pets Choice team to achieve our business objectives.
  • Support the delivery of continuous improvement action plans and contribute to the development of the maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required and work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Occasionally travel and use company vehicles.

About You:

  • Demonstrate the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team when required.
  • Experience in painting, joinery, plumbing, and other building maintenance skills.
  • A good communicator at all levels and able to balance multiple priorities.
  • A problem solver with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • A dynamic self-starter with a positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written.
  • A building qualification would be desirable.
