Job Overview

Band 6 Research Nurse/Clinical Trials Practitioner

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Nurse/Clinical Trials Practitioner to join their team in the Perioperative Medicine and Cardiovascular Surgery department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing and a passion for research, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research studies and manage the day-to-day activities of the research team
  • Recruit patients for research studies and ensure their safety and well-being
  • Collect and manage research data, ensuring accuracy and quality
  • Liaise with clinicians, researchers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth study conduct
  • Develop and implement research protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current registration
  • Substantive post-registration nursing experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in research governance, clinical trials, and evidence-based practice
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
