London, Greater London, United Kingdom SAVE THE CHILDREN-5 Full time
Role Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as shop volunteers at Save the Children. As a volunteer shop assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping us raise vital funds for children in need.

Our shops are vibrant destinations where we sell second-hand clothing, shoes, and household goods. By volunteering with us, you will not only be making a difference but also gaining valuable skills and experiences.

The estimated salary for this role is £8-10 per hour, depending on your location and experience. However, please note that this is a voluntary, unpaid position based in the UK.

About the Role

As a shop volunteer, you will be responsible for various tasks, including sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, and maintaining the shop floor. You may also have the opportunity to participate in window displays and other creative projects.

Your commitment can vary from a few hours a week to more regular involvement. We welcome applications from individuals who can commit to a flexible schedule.

Skills and Qualifications

We value team players who are open to learning and following our policies. If you have a wide range of skills and experiences, we encourage you to apply. Retail or shop experience is not necessary, as full training will be provided.

We strive to create an inclusive and representative team that reflects the communities we serve. Everyone can make a real difference, and we will do what we can to find a role that suits you.

What's Next?

After submitting your application, we will invite you for an informal trial shift. This is an excellent opportunity to visit the shop, meet existing volunteers, and try out some of the tasks involved in the role. We also ask for two references, which don't need to be formal workplace ones.

Please note that this role requires a good understanding of English, as all communication will be in this language.
