Job Description

Bicycle Therapeutics is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to support the preclinical research and discovery efforts for our expanding portfolio of Bicycle-based therapeutics.

This individual will have a passion for developing innovative treatment paradigms for cancer patients and will enjoy working collaboratively across programs.

The successful candidate will report to the Associate Director of In Vivo Pharmacology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Interpret In Vivo Pharmacology Studies: Develop and execute in vivo pharmacology studies to evaluate the activities of Bicycle Toxin Conjugates (BTC), Bicycle Radio Conjugates (BRCTM), and other compounds in our pipeline, including their mechanism of action and PK/PD/efficacy relationships.
  • Manage In Vivo Pharmacology Research: Oversee in vivo pharmacology research through a network of Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and academic collaborations.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Disciplines: Effectively collaborate with cross-functional disciplines, including biology, DMPK, translational sciences, and toxicology, to drive decisions and advance our pipeline.
  • Document and Communicate Results: Effectively document and communicate results company-wide in diverse settings, ranging from project team meetings to internal scientific forums.
  • Identify and Validate Pharmacodynamic Biomarkers: Identify and validate pharmacodynamic biomarkers to support preclinical and clinical development.
  • Lead In Vivo Pharmacology Sample Management: Oversee in vivo pharmacology sample management.
  • Author Publications and Presentations: Author publications in peer-reviewed journals and represent Bicycle at conferences with scientific presentations in poster or oral formats.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Educated in a biological sciences field with extensive industrial experience.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience using multiple types of in vivo oncology models is required.
  • Experience with Toxin- or Radionuclide-Conjugates: Experience in working with toxin- or radionuclide-conjugates (e.g., ADCs, radiopharmaceuticals) is preferred.
  • Experience in In Vivo Model Development and Validation: Experience in in vivo model development and validation is preferred.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Pre-clinical In Vivo SPECT or PET Nuclear Medicine Imaging Techniques: Knowledge and experience in pre-clinical in vivo SPECT or PET nuclear medicine imaging techniques, including understanding of theory, familiarity with data acquisition and analysis techniques, and experience in quality control and presentation of such data, is desired.
  • Experience in Managing External Work/Collaborations: Some experience in managing external work/collaborations is preferred.
  • Strong Background in Cancer Biology: A strong background in cancer biology is preferred.
  • Collaborative and Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Capability of working both independently and as part of multiple collaborative and multidisciplinary teams.
