An exciting role has arisen within the NHS to lead Cancer Psychological Therapies. As a senior clinical practitioner, you will be responsible for supervising and managing a team of psychologists, while maintaining a small caseload of patients.

Key responsibilities include advising on complex cases, teaching, training, supervision, and support to non-psychologist staff. You will engage with stakeholders, including key relationships at NELFT and BHRUT, and liaison with regional psycho-oncology services.

The successful candidate will have expertise in pain management, group and individual interventions, and experience working with client groups and multidisciplinary teams in physical health settings.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop psychological mindedness in teams and contribute to the development of psychological therapies in the NHS.

About the Role

This is a permanent position offering flexible working hours, compressed hours, and part-time arrangements. The estimated salary for this role is £62,215-£72,293 per annum, plus HCAS pro rata.

You will work closely with the Psychological Professional Lead for CHPS, overseeing the Cardiac Rehab service and palliative care pilots at BHRUT.

  • Experience in line management and clinical supervision of psychologists, trainees, and assistant psychologists
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering psychological therapy to a wide variety of client groups, ages, contexts, and presenting problems
  • Expertise in assessing and managing clinical risk, such as suicidal crises
