Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Estates Team as a Joiner and Maintenance Technician. This is a rare opportunity to work within a large healthcare estate and gain valuable experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out minor and general joinery installation work, door locks, fire seals, fire doors, window checks, and other tasks as required.
  • Interpret and work from instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to the key trade, with minimal supervision.
  • Undertake routine maintenance (PPM) and liaise with key stakeholders regarding building maintenance and new minor work schemes.
  • Work across all trades as necessary, actively taking on new skills and participating in training to improve efficiency and flexibility within the Estates Department.
  • Understand the principle function of all plant, equipment, including mechanical and electrical services on the site, to enable competent judgments to be made which may impact on the delivery of service.
  • Investigate and repair complex structural and component faults in various building types, to be innovative in dealing with problems as they arise to maintain the core business of the Trust.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognised and registered CITB or EIBT or C&G apprenticeship (4 years or an equivalent level on knowledge gained in a shorter time).
  • Current driving license with the ability to drive category B.
  • The post holder should not amass 12 points within any 3-year period. For new drivers, they should not amass 6 points within the first 2 years of passing their test.
