About Us

At Oliver Bonas Limited, our promise is to deliver high-quality products. We are seeking a skilled Garment & Fabric Technologist to collaborate with our Team in the Support Office, located near Chessington.

This role requires expertise for the Buying and Design teams from initial sample through to production, encompassing garment fitting, product construction, and component/fabric innovation for multi-product womenswear.

The Support Office offers hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week, and we are open to discussing flexible work arrangements.

Responsibilities
  • Organise and attend two fit meetings per week to ensure seamless collaboration between teams.
  • Create and maintain technical packs for factories as required, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Take responsibility for the fit and comfort of own brand garments from your specific product area, driving quality and excellence.
  • Assist the Design team in resolving fit issues, ensuring styling and design remain uncompromised.
  • Issue and approve graded specifications, maintaining high standards throughout the production process.
  • Develop new fits and blocks for new ranges, staying ahead of industry trends and consumer demands.
  • Create, standardise, maintain, and issue workbook templates for suppliers to use when required, enhancing supply chain efficiency.
  • Refer to and update an internet database on a regular basis, staying informed and up-to-date.
  • Issue approvals and comments on both base and bulk fabrics, guaranteeing nothing is delayed on the critical path.
  • Approve bulk components, test reports, care instructions, and packaging for production, maintaining the highest standards.
  • Provide approvals on all fabric, ensuring products meet company quality standards.
  • Understand manufacturing processes and possess sound knowledge of fabric properties and usage as well as garment construction.
  • Coordinate the testing of fabrics and garments across all products to ensure they meet company quality standards.
  • Request, chase, and approve material certificates and maintain and update in-house systems.
  • Write accurate and detailed fit comments that are clearly communicated to manufacturers.
  • Oversee all technical amendments, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption.
