About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Primary Teacher to join our team at a lovely special school in Okehampton. As a SEN Primary Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to students aged 4-16 with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working with students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs and challenging behaviors. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to students' individual learning needs, providing targeted support to ensure students remain motivated and engaged, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' individual learning needs.
  • Provide targeted support to ensure students remain motivated and engaged.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement EHCPs in collaboration with teaching assistants and support staff.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualifications.
  • Experience in working with students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs and challenging behaviors.
  • Excellent understanding of the pedagogy of progressing learning.
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient professional with strong behavior management skills.
  • Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
  • An organized, reliable, and enthusiastic individual.
