Job Description

Job Title: Behaviour Mentor - Pastoral Support Specialist

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Secondary School in Sandwell

About the Role:

We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join our pastoral team at a secondary school in Sandwell. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work under the direction of the Inclusion and Behaviour Manager to provide support to small groups of students across key stage 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to small groups of students
  • Manage student behaviour and overcome barriers to learning
  • Inspire children and help pupils reengage with education
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to provide a high standard of education

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of supporting children and young people on a one-to-one and small group basis
  • Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their full potential
  • Able to build confidence and motivation in students
  • Approachable and able to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Able to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict
  • High levels of empathy, caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Eligibility to work within the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding training
