Palliative Care Physiotherapist Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the Palliative Care Therapy Team in Bolton. The team provides therapy input to individuals with malignant or non-malignant conditions who have a limited life expectancy.

Main Duties
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner within the palliative care service, supported by highly specialist therapists.
  • Perform therapeutic assessments of patients with palliative and end-of-life care needs, providing diagnoses and developing individualized treatment programs.
  • Provide specialist knowledge, skills, and advice to clients and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervise, educate, and assess students and junior staff performance.

Person Specification
  • Qualified physiotherapist with a degree or diploma.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Relevant post-registration education.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Palliative care passport.
  • Enhanced or advanced communication skills.
  • Psychological level 2 training.
Key Skills and Knowledge
  • Good clinical reasoning skills and reflective practice.
  • Ability to perform assessments of patients with diverse presentations and provide diagnoses.
  • Clear, concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
