Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technology Manager to join our team at National Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Remote Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and direction to ensure the successful delivery of complex projects.

Your primary focus will be on leading research programmes in the specialist area of remote engineering and robotics, working closely with our team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to deliver work programmes to time, cost, and quality.

You will be responsible for technically scoping new programmes of work, developing work packages to deliver end-user requirements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will provide support to customers, interact with regulatory bodies, and lead the build, installation, commissioning, and operational support of plant-based equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Technical lead and direction for research programmes in remote engineering and robotics
  • Lead engineer for a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians
  • Technical scoping and development of work packages
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Support to customers and regulatory bodies
  • Lead build, installation, commissioning, and operational support of plant-based equipment

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience of applying legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Proven track record of developing customer relationships and winning new business
  • Experience of delivering bespoke engineered and/or robotic solutions
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance

Desirable Requirements:

  • Proven track record of integrating technologies such as industrial robots and sensors
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Familiarity with engineering design practices and procedures
