As a Headteacher at New Acorn School in Bristol, you will be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils and young people. You will work closely with our central services and a network of supportive Headteachers to set up and grow this new school, promoting high-quality, creative learning and delivering exceptional educational experiences.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading independent provider of specialist education and make a real difference in the lives of pupils and young people. As Headteacher, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and management of the school, ensuring it meets its aims and objectives and operates within the overall strategy and guidelines of Acorn Education.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of pupils and young people with complex needs.
  • Lead and manage staff to ensure they are motivated and committed to excellence.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders.
  • Promote the commercial success of the school, ensuring 100% occupancy and effective cost management.
  • Work closely with central services and other schools to share best practices and improve outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least three years' experience as a senior leader in a specialist school for pupils with complex communication needs.
  • Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of achieving outstanding results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
