Essex County Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in empowering children and young adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and their families, to achieve their full potential.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, where you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our service users. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and young adults, developing and implementing personalized care plans, and working closely with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the needs of children and young adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities
- Develop and implement personalized care plans to meet the needs of service users
- Work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes
- Provide emotional support and guidance to service users and their families
- Collaborate with other teams and agencies to ensure a seamless service
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A diploma or degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or an equivalent qualification
- Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker
- A demonstrable capability to practice in line with current professional standards, such as the Professional Capability Framework (PCF) and Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS)
- Proficiency in case recording
- A strong working knowledge of information technology and related systems, including Word and SW case recording systems
