Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our internal DevOps team, you will provide expert development and maintenance for an in-house supported application and supporting tools.

Your primary focus will be on coding and configuration within a DevOps environment to develop and support the Met Office broadcast graphics software and to further enable continuous delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transform technical requirements into effective solutions.
  • Integrate and build software to enable product delivery.
  • Knowledgeable with all aspects of the agile delivery lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in software development.
  • Highly proficient in coding in Python.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices (Git version control, automated testing, CI/CD tools).
  • Skilled in Enterprise Linux, troubleshooting, upgrading, and testing software and OS.

The estimated salary for this role is £550 per day, dependent upon experience. You will work Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:30 and will have a 5-day working week.
