About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Inpatient Psychology Team at Dewnans Centre, Langdon Hospital, Dawlish.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist psychological work to individuals who require secure mental health services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in forensic mental health, with experience in risk assessment, therapy, and clinical supervision.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop treatment plans for individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service-wide initiatives and policies.
Requirements
  • BA or BSc in Psychology, eligible for registration with the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience in forensic mental health settings, with a strong understanding of risk assessment and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to professional development.
