We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team at St George's Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Working with laboratory equipment and performing critical tasks to support microbiology diagnostics.
  • Performing bacteriology-related laboratory work, including using analysers and equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting culture plates for identification of bacterial pathogens.
  • Setting up and executing susceptibility tests to guide treatment decisions.
  • Maintaining accurate records of tests, results, and procedures.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety and quality control standards.
  • Collaborating with other laboratory staff and clinical teams to ensure effective workflow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bacteriology and microbiology techniques.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting culture plates.
  • Experience in setting up and performing susceptibility tests.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
