About the Opportunity

A top 5 nationwide leader in their industry, with a family-owned business situated in the heart of Norfolk, is looking for an experienced procurement specialist.

The company delivers over 15,000 different branded and own-branded lines of products all over the UK, including exclusive distribution for some leading overseas brands.

Job Description

This permanent role involves working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, based at our Norfolk depot. As a key member of our procurement department, you will report directly to the Procurement Manager and work closely with the senior management team.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing the procurement of allocated supplier stock effectively.
  2. Negotiating prices with suppliers and ensuring price changes are signed off and finalised.
  3. Strategically managing a portfolio of products to reduce the risk of overstock and clearance items.
  4. Analysing data to identify areas of unnecessary expense and providing recommendations to senior management.
About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in product buying or procurement.
  • Previous experience in analysing commercial objectives and KPIs, feeding back to senior peers.
  • Strong category management skills, with experience in product selection and range building.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of retail, warehouse, or distribution practices.
  • Moderate to high-level Excel skills.
