Senior Manufacturing Engineer: Delivering Excellence in Aerospace

About the Company:

Safran Seats is a leading provider of passenger experience solutions, renowned for innovation, customization, quality, and industrial design.

We pride ourselves on collaborating with both major airlines and airframers, boasting the largest seats portfolio among suppliers.

In the UK, Safran Seats specializes in First Class and Business Class seating for wide-body aircraft, with engineering teams based in Cwmbran, Newport, and Brackley.

The Role:

As an IPT Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will oversee a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, ensuring product designs meet manufacturing and assembly requirements.

You will work closely with design engineering to deliver customer programs into production on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the team to identify and eliminate design for assembly/manufacture issues at every key stage of the program.
  • Lead lessons learned sessions on previous design issues at project inception.
  • Collaborate with other engineering functions to agree on development build requirements and ensure necessary improvements are made.
  • Develop a production strategy with operations that meets customers' requirements and estimates CAPEX for tooling.
  • Eliminate waste during the design of the production process and train the team in lean methodology.
  • Ensure APQP & PPAP documentation is compiled and released at the correct level of quality and on time.
  • Work with systems engineering to agree on validation and verification requirements for new products.

Requirements:

We seek an experienced engineer with a solid background in new product introduction from a manufacturing environment.

Ambitious candidates with excellent knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly principles are encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
