Port Navigation Development Officer

Are you passionate about maritime navigation and looking for a challenging and rewarding career? The Port of London Authority has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Marine Pilot to join its team.
As a Trainee Marine Pilot, you will be responsible for assisting experienced pilots on commercial vessels navigating the River Thames. You will provide clear navigational advice and information to vessel masters to support compliance with regulatory requirements, while ensuring the safe and efficient navigation of the vessel.
To succeed in this role, you must possess a range of essential skills and qualifications, including a valid STCW II/2 Masters Unlimited Certificate of Competency, an unrestricted ENG1 medical certificate, and excellent communication skills in English. Experience working aboard commercial vessels and knowledge of the Port Marine Safety Code are highly desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity for career progression, with a starting salary of £68,819 during the 7-month training period. Following successful completion of the training program, your salary will increase as you progress in your pilot career.
