Job Title: Naval Weapons Senior Analyst

Janes is seeking a highly skilled Naval Weapons Senior Analyst to join our team. As a subject matter expert in naval technologies, you will conduct in-depth research and analysis to support our government, military, and defense industry customers around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct open-source research on naval weapons, including air-defence systems, torpedoes, mines, uncrewed surface attack vessels, and artillery.
  • Deliver insights in various formats, such as specifications databases, reference text, webinars, and bespoke reports.
  • Develop and implement improvements to our naval weapons content sets.
  • Build relationships with defense equipment manufacturers and system users, attending exhibitions, conferences, and events to gather primary research.
  • Collaborate with other analysts to peer review content and ensure high-quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Educated to at least degree level in a relevant technical subject area.
  • Knowledge of naval weapons operation and design is essential, with hands-on experience an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English, with a proven ability to produce technical writing.
  • Other language skills, particularly Chinese and Russian, are highly valued but not essential.
  • A good networker, able to build relationships with external subject matter experts.
  • Organisation and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
