About the Role

At Amazon UK Services Ltd., we're committed to creating a safe and healthy work environment for our employees. As a Senior Safety Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our sites operate in compliance with relevant health and safety laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor site performance against set KPIs and develop strategies to improve processes.
  • Establish and implement workplace health and safety programs, as well as arrange training sessions for employees.
  • Analyze safety metrics and incident trends to inform resource allocation in high-risk areas.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement corrective actions where necessary.

A Day in the Life

You'll be based on-site at one of our locations, such as a sortation centre. This will enable you to closely monitor processes and identify opportunities for improvement. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business to understand the risks they face and gather data to inform smarter and safer working practices. Additionally, you'll set up training programs to help employees adopt new safety processes and achieve higher standards.

About the Team

You'll join the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team, which plays a vital role in our success. As part of ATS, you'll work with a diverse group of professionals who are passionate about delivering efficient and sustainable transportation solutions. Requirements

  • A NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ5 (or equivalent) or studying towards.
  • Understanding of UK Environment, Health and Safety legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methodologies.
  • Experience of planning or managing environmentally conscious initiatives.
